I made it to Alaska on Sunday. Getting checked out in the Airplane and should start instructing tomorrw. Busy summer, but that good. Lots of hours in the logbook. Staying at some friends house 8 miles outside town, its a nice place with cheap rent. Talkeetna is nice and changing fast. Its starting to get greener and warmer everyday. Tourist are showing up more and more.

The guys at the Kawi dealer in Whitehorse really helped out. They let me do my own work to get the muffler back on, do an oil change and get the bike back on the road. The oil change and parts for the muffler were only $30 too. Blasted up to Tok, Alaska today. Cleared customs easy. First person to greet me in Tok was a native looking for a hand out. "say, can you give me dollar" me "no" him "you can't or you won't" me "both" him "can you give me a smoke" me "no" him "you can't or you wont" me "both" him " well hey go in there and buy me a pack a smokes eh" me "no" him "how 'bout some beers eh" me "you smell like you had plenty" so then I get this sob story about his wife, kids, blah blah. So then the next guy starts in with the same racket. Ug, oh well, stay clear of the natives I guess.

Still working my way accross Canada, should make Alaska tomorrow morning. Had a long couple days. Saw lots of critters on the road this morning and got some pictures but still can't put them up. Did almost 900 miles today, ended in Whitehorse, Yukon. My muffler fell off 80 miles outside of town. Rode into town with the thing strapped to the back and making alot of noise. There is a Kawi dealer in town so I will get things fixed up tomorrow. Almost there.

O Canada

It took me a bit, but Im finished with my CFI and off on my trip.

I stayed with Lenny and Rhoda again last night, this time at their house in Sheridan, WY. They were great hosts once again. It was great to stay with friends instead of a hotel and Sheridan is a great little town.

Made my way up to Lethbridge, Alberta today. Just a few rain showers and the bike is running strong. Its more powerful at the lower altitudes. Went over a pass in Montana today that had several feet of snow on the sides of the road. Passed canadian customs and got into town about 9:00pm. My camera won't work with this old computer so no pictures for a while.
